Inspections
Paul Romeril operates an “Open” inspection policy and follows the Association of Consulting Forensic Engineers “Guidelines for Joint Engineering Inspections of January 2000” where applicable. See ACFE Guidelines page.
Inspections normally take about 1½ hours and involve the Plaintiff giving an account of the accident to the parties attending, open discussions to clarify aspects, photographing and surveying the locus and taking detailed instructions in private.
Paul Romeril requires the Instructing Party to obtain formal consent to enter the premises/lands of a third party for the purposes of an Engineering Inspection even when access is freely available.
Arrangements for engineering inspections are made directly by this office with the parties involved. Clients must understand the importance of contacting this office to confirm proposed inspections and that difficulty can arise if Paul Romeril is suddenly required to attend court at short notice. Failure by a Plaintiff to attend an Inspection without good cause will incur charges.
